Route 66 (Part 2)

How easy is it for us to forget the things that we were brought out of? Sometimes we get through a sickness or difficult time in our lives and we just keep it moving. As stated in the previous entry, Route 66 (Part 1), we can use Psalm 66 as directions and instructions on how and why we are to praise God. In these verses (5-9), we are encouraged to take a look back at all of the mighty and wonderful things God has done. It is then when we remember His goodness; and if that's not a reason to praise Him, then what is?

Psalm 66:5-9 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot—come, let us rejoice in him. He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations—let not the rebellious rise up against him. Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.
