Try it Tuesday

We all have an opinion, and that's great. However, before we share our opinion, let's try to get a little more information. Like the older people say, "Make sure you're words are sweet because you just might have to eat them."

Stop Shaking Your Head & Pointing Your Finger - Judge Not

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." -Matthew 7: 1-5

Plate Full of Pride

It doesn't cost us anything to be kind to each other. I think one of the main things that stops us from treating people the way Christ treats us is Pride. Even when we know the other person is wrong, or being rude, negative and nasty, we have to think about the bigger picture. And that is that we must follow the example of Christ. He could have easily wiped out his enemies, caused them pain or anything, but He still Loved them and treated them with compassion and kindness.

We have a plate full of pride, but we refuse to swallow it. Digest it and turn it into Positive Pride, where we can say we're proud of ourselves for the way we handled the situation. What's more, God will be proud of us for letting our lights shine and becoming the bigger people! It seems too hard for us to forgive people because of our (negative) pride, but we will feel so much better when we just let go and say, "it is well with my soul."

Free Friday!

If we can't love without excuses, without being ourselves, without judgement and without trust, then we aren't loving freely. We need to find unapologetic love; the love where we can be ourselves; the love where we can just be...FREE.

Think About it Thursday!

Have you thought about breaking your smoking addiction? Here's more food for thought to help you change, and ultimately kick, the unhealthy habit:

1.Your chance of developing many cancers can be drastically reduced.
2.Your family and friends will not be subjected to second-hand smoke anymore.
3.You’ll have more cash in your pocket for a lot of nicer things.
4.Your lungs and heart will finally be in a position to live through all the abuse.
5.All those dangerous chemicals will eventually be flushed from your blood stream.
6.You won’t smell of stale cigarette smoke anymore.
7.You’ll feel much healthier and stronger every day while not cigarettes.
8.You’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment soon after quitting and confidence can be high.
9. Individuals who understand how troublesome it extremely is will respect you and understand that it is a great obstacle to finally defeat.
10. You will be able to think clearly.

I believe in you!!

Trust God!

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

This is one of my favorite scriptures because it reminds us that we have to trust God for everything, especially the things that we don't understand. When things don't make sense to us, we simply need to acknowledge our God, whom is all-knowing, and let Him guide us. Even in our darkest hours, the Word of God is a lamp to our feet And a light to our path. We're not as smart as we think we are, so let's change our mind and trust His mind and His plan. Amen? Amen!

(Sharing) Beyond Sunday: Content in All Things

I just read an email from "Beyond Sunday," which expands on Philippians 4:12-13

Please read below, I think you'll enjoy it!

Classic Commentary
It is evident that he had been in need; but it was the occasion of more entire trust in God. We can easily gather this from his language; but, he delicately adds, he would not, by saying that [the church at Philippi's] care of him had now at last flourished again, imply that they had forgotten him. The care for him was in their hearts; but they had not had the opportunity of giving expression to their love.

Neither did he speak in regard of want; he had learnt-for it is practical experience and its blessed result we find here-to be content under all circumstances, and thus to depend on no one. He knew how to be abased: he knew how to abound; in every way he was instructed both to be full and to be hungry, to be in abundance and to suffer want. He could do all things through Him who strengthened him. Sweet and precious experience! not only because it gives ability to meet all circumstances, which is of great price, but because the Lord is known, the constant, faithful, mighty friend of the heart.

It is not 'I can do all things,' but "I can do all through him who strengthens me." It is a strength which continually flows from a relationship with Christ, a connection with Him maintained in the heart. Neither is it only 'One can do all things.' This is true; but Paul had learned it practically. He knew what he could be assured of and reckon on-what ground he stood on. Christ had always been faithful to him, had brought him through so many difficulties and through so many seasons of prosperity, that he had learned to trust in Him, and not in circumstances. And Christ was the same ever.

A Thought to Keep:
Christ gives us the strength to be content in any and every circumstance. This isn't carte blanche power to conquer every problem the world throws our way, but a gentle promise of God's sustaining presence no matter those problems.

Stronger!!!!!

Psalm 105:24 - He increased His people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies.

Don't worry about your enemies, haters, nay-sayers, etc.; God has raised us up to be stronger than them, as well as stronger than our situations! Let's look inward (ourselves) and upward (to God) for strength and stop relying so heavily on others to build us up, or even fight battles for us. We can and will do it!!

Try it Tuesday!

Galatians 1:10
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Who are we trying to please and impress? Let's try to please the Lord today (and everyday). Let's think before we speak. God is always with us, but we don't always acknowledge Him. Let's try remembering His presence today and  act accordingly. If we could physically see Christ sitting next to us, would we do the same things we've been doing? Who knows, but let's give change our best effort today!

You Can't Turn Off My power

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE & A SOUND MIND. Since God gave us those things, who can take them from us? We've seen in the movies, in the lives of our friends/family & maybe even experienced it ourselves: Utility turn-off notices and/or having them turned off. The company may be able to come out and stop your service, but nobody, I mean NOBODY, can stop God's service. His power can not and will not be disconnected. As long as we stay strong & continue to give God the glory, we will ALWAYS have POWER! So when you're in the dark, literally or figuratively, just shout: To God be the Glory!! POW!!

I'm Praying for You

I have to take the time to say thank you, again. Thanks to the daily readers, thanks to the occasional readers and thanks to those who are just browsing. As the Word says in Ephesians 1:16, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.

My sincere prayer is that you all are touched by my posts and that we are all motivated and inspired to change. As I said before, change can be difficult, maybe even painful, but it is also beautiful; it allows us to be fresh, new, creative and free.

Click the picture for the song, "Free," by Kierra Sheard;
And sing along with the lyrics below!

My redeemer has saved me from sin
My soul is awakened, I live
Free from what held me
Free from what fought me

Mentally, you've captured me
In my mind
I am free
In my heart
If I am yours
I am free

Where the spirit of the Lord our God
Is at rest there, is freedom
You can be freed from bondage and healed from brokenness and full of joy
Be free...

How Are You (Really) Feeling?

It's easy for us to say we're feeling insignificant or playful or relaxed; but what are we really saying? How do we really feel? What's the root of our current emotion? Check out this Feeling Wheel below and click on it for a closer look and explanation of our emotions. Hopefully we will be able to change the way we react to situations and other people after examining what these feeling really mean and where there stem from.

Psalm 19:14

We do a lot of talking, but what are we really saying? What's more, are our words pleasing to God? He is omnipresent, always with us, so everything we say, He hears. We have to be aware of what we say and how we say it; this goes for our prayers, as well.  Are our prayers and meditations pleasing to God? Or are they filled with, "gimmie, gimmie's" and complaints?

We want to change the way we speak and be careful to have a pure heart, especially when praying and meditating.

Irreplaceable?

"This will never be over! My situation is too big for me to deal with! I hate when I have to do this. I'm never going to make it! I'm not good enough!" Some of us treat negativity like it's irreplaceable. The reality is we clench onto it like a security blanket. But if and when we learn to let go and replace those negative thoughts with positive ones our outlook, the situation and our lives will change!

Change Your Final Destination

I truly appreciate each and every follower for this blog! However, if you have not decided to follow Jesus, yet, now is the time. It only takes a moment, faith and a sincere heart to be born again. God will rescue you and save your soul right now, if you let Him.

Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

 I Love You All!!

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life!

Just Ask

Sometimes we get so caught up talking about the things we want and complaining about what we don't have, that we forget to just ask God for it. The promises of God are yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20)! And He promised that if we just ask in the name of Jesus and believing in faith that He will give it to us. However, not everything we want is good for us. What may seem like a "no" from God may simply be a "you're not ready;" "I have something better;" or "show Me why you deserve it."

We have to make sure our prayer life is not just "gimme, gimme, gimme," but also prayers of thanks, prayers interceding for others, prayers for forgiveness and so forth. Keep your line of communication open with God and remember to go to Him, first.

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
