The Struggle is Real

It seems as though two of the hardest things to do in life is to apologize and to forgive. What does an apology really mean? It's just words, right? And if, by chance, an apology is given, sincere or not, why is it so hard to forgive? It's our emotions. Pride gets in the way of apologizing because then we have to admit that we were wrong. But the bible tells us to confess our sins one to another...We should make a habit of asking for forgiveness, whether someone asks for an apology or not. And anger, hurt and sadness block us from forgiving people. We would rather hold onto those feelings and act like a victim because it's easier to feel sorry for ourselves instead of moving on.

Let's take control of our emotions and change the way we handle apologizing/forgiving. "Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." - Buddha
